# Bidi Captions

> Bidi Captions is a web app with two tools that run in the browser. The AI story video generator turns one topic into a narrated story video with cinematic pictures, captions and ready-to-post shorts. The captions editor auto-captions speech in 99 languages and shows right-to-left languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Urdu) the right way round. The AI models run on the user's own device: no API key is needed and videos are not uploaded.

- Plans: Free (no sign-up), Pro ($9.99 a month or $79.99 a year) and Studio ($19.99 a month or $159.99 a year), in US dollars before tax.
- No OpenAI, ElevenLabs or other API key is needed. The story writer, the narrator and the speech recognition run in the browser. Pictures are painted on the device, or online by the free Pollinations service if the user turns that on.
- Story videos are written and narrated in English. The captions editor handles 99 spoken languages, and the app's menus come in 13 interface languages.
- Video export needs a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari (WebCodecs). The on-device story writer and picture model also need WebGPU.

It writes the script, narrates it, shows a new picture every 10 to 20 seconds with a slow pan and zoom, burns in captions, and cuts vertical shorts that end on a "Follow for part 2" banner. Long stories run 10 to 30 minutes, for YouTube and Spotify video podcasts.
- [Captions editor](https://bidi-captions.devs-app.workers.dev/): auto-captions for speech in 99 languages, highlighted word by word and burned into the video, or exported as SRT or VTT subtitles. It fixes reversed right-to-left subtitles and punctuation, even with English words in the line.
